The CBTA Into to Pistol course is intended for all individuals regardless of previous shooting experience. Course topics include:

Students in Intro to Pistol will complete live fire training and a nationally standardized shooting qualification while on the range with an NRA Certified Instructor. Students will receive the NRA Guide: Basics of Pistol Shooting handbook, take a Basics of Pistol Shooting Student Examination and receive a course completion certificate bearing the signature of the NRA Secretary and your CBTA NRA Certified Instructor.

Or maybe you have Into to Rifle is a 14+ hour course which teaches the basic knowledge & skills necessary for the safe use of a rifle in target shooting. Through a combination of classrfoom and range time you will learn:

Students will also receive the Basics of Rifle Shooting handbook, NRA Gun Safety Rules brochure, Winchester/NRA Marksmanship Qualification booklet, take a Basics of Rifle Shooting Student Examination, and receive a course completion certificate.

The Intro to Shotgun course is 10 hours of classroom and range time. You will learn:

⦁ CBTA range rules

⦁ Shooting fundamentals

⦁ Shooting at moving targets, straight away & angled targets

⦁ Shotgun parts, operation & cleaning

⦁ shotgun shell components & malfunctions

Women on Target is a class exclusively for women. Whether it's your first time picking up a firearm, or you are looking to improve your skills, we have something for everyone. You will be provided with hands-on instruction to ensure a customized experience for your needs. No experience or equipment is necessary to participate.

CBTA's Basic Home Defense is a 4-hour fully interactive course that teaches participants how to defend their home in a variety of crisis events such as:

⦁ Theft

⦁ Burglary

⦁ Robbery

⦁ Home invasion

Topics covered in class include:

⦁ The realities of crime in and around the home

⦁ Prevailing mindset

⦁ Use of force and the legalities of defending your home

⦁ Conventional security measures: doors, windows, locks, lights, and alarm systems

⦁ Safe storage of guns and ammunition in the home

⦁ Developing an emergency response plan that involves the whole family

⦁ Basic use of cover and concealment and when defending the home

⦁ Basic flashlight and weapon mounted light engagement

⦁ Home defense drills: outside the home, at the door, at the breach, and in the house

⦁ Dealing with the police after an event

Students will then practice skills by completing one or more reality-based scenarios simulating a home defense situation.

This course is interactive, making use of shot indicating laser training pistols and training projectiles (airsoft) against real people, and does not include live weapons or ammunition in the training.

This class is appropriate for the whole family; age 13+ is encouraged to attend!

Come take the first step to obtaining your conceal and carry permit through Carolina Ballistics and Training Academy! This class comes with one-on-one personal training. This class provides the experienced shooter with NC state-mandated information and qualifications to legally conceal and carry their firearm.

We encourage you to bring your own handgun and ammunition, if possible. This ensures you are comfortable with the firearm you plan to carry.

CBTA's Conceal and Carry class includes both classroom instruction and live fire qualifications on the range, where you'll fire 50 rounds from 3, 5, 7 and 9 yards.

This is an advanced level course. Students should be able to demonstrate proficiency in weapon handling and practical marksmanship prior to registration. Completion of an Intro to Rifle course is required prior to registration.
